Learning Through Loggerheads-Ultimate Chef Competition 2012

_  Edisto Eats, A Food Festival is a multi-weekend culinary experience that promises not to disappoint. Under the umbrella of the experience are several different culinary events. These events include: the 2nd annual Edisto Ultimate Chef Competition, L.I.M.E, a wild game banquet to benefit Ducks Unlimited, and a pasta dinner to benefit the Anne Rooney Presbyterian Preschool. Each event is designed to highlight a local charity or non-profit while immersing the guests in delicious cuisine prepared with fresh, local ingredients.


The Edisto Ultimate Chef Competition pits local chefs and restaurants against one another in a culinary clash, all to the delight of the diners. The two teams are given a secret ingredient to be featured in their culinary creations. Diners enjoy six dishes – three from each team – but are not told which team has made each course. The diners then score the dishes using the same guidelines as a professional food critic to determine who advances to the next round. The two teams that cuisine reigns supreme will meet in an hour long chef battle on March 17th in the parking lot of McConkey’s Jungle Shack. L.I.M.E (Local. Impromptu. Moveable. Evening.) is an unforgettable dining experience.
